The frozen shoulder usually occurs in individuals 40 and older, particularly women. Some individuals experience it due to wear-and-tear of their shoulder joint and some experience it due to injury on their shoulder from daily activities or trauma to the shoulder from an accident. The immobility that may result during recovery, such as from shoulder injury, a broken arm, or a stroke, is one of the most common causes.
Consult your doctor if you had an injury and have some difficulty moving your shoulder. Acupuncture, along with exercises to improve your shoulder’s range’s motion, is another option to explore for the frozen shoulder.
